C.D. Tenerife were promoted to La Liga in 1961, but they couldn't prevent the relegation in the 1961/1962 season.
In 1992, with Jorge Valdano as trainer, C.D. Tenerife beat Real Madrid in the last match of the season, escaping relegation.
