A-Rod injured for the All-Star game
By Cindy Ferguson
The Dominican-American third baseman for the New York Yankees, Alex Rodriguez, of 31 years of age, was injured on Monday night’s game against the Minnesota Twins. A-Rod tripped over Justin Morneau's, first baseman for the Twins, ankle while trying taking down a possible double play, which caused him to wound his left hamstring.
Rodriguez stayed put in the game subsequent to harming his hamstring and moved forward to second, then left the field. He went 0-for-4 with a strikeout Tuesday night but looked comfortable in the field, starting an important double play with a fine pickup on the backhand side.
He has still not determined whether or not he will play in Tuesday’s 78th MLB All-Star game. He might just use the three-day break to recover and rest his sore hamstring. Although he claims to feel all right he stated that if he continues to feel the way he does at the present moment than he most likely will not participate. He also informed teammates that he would reveal his decision on Saturday of whether or not he will be playing. However, he said he would be at the game regardless or him playing or not.
The game will be held on July 10, 2007 at AT&T Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants of the National League. It will mark the third game held in San Francisco, the fourth overall in the Bay Area, with Oakland hosting once, and the second straight held in a National League ballpark. As per the 2006 Collective Bargaining Agreement, the league that wins the game will receive home advantage in the 2007 World Series.
