Bochy out of the Padres, engaged with the Giants!
Jill Woods
This Tuesday Bruce Bochi will make his debut as manager of the Giants, beginning with three home games against the Padres.
Once more Bochy will be present in the dugout with the San Diego’s team, in a new season, but this time he will stay with the opponent, hoping he can break his bad luck against the acclaimed team for the past 12 years.
In the past seasons while leading the Padres, Bochy became the most successful coach in the franchise history, winning 951 games. Making a review of his achievements we can mention that he was manager of the year in 1996 and led the team to 4 of the 5 appearances in the postseason in its history.
Despite having the controversial Bonds on his squad, who was involved with a substance, consume, he has known how to manage this issue.
Bonds had several injuries last season; however, he seems to be very healthy this year. Bonds is one of the nine players from the team who were at least 34 years old and Bochy decided to keep them in.
Bochy was searching new opportunities since last year, which were not easy for the manager but he got a good offer with a 3 years contract of $6 millions with the Giants.
Padres will replace Bochy with Bud Black, waiting to see what is next on this year’s season, and Giants with a very good prospect, and are hoping to reach a high position.
