Cheap The Police Tickets

By: Sam

Reggae and ska music strongly influences the three-piece rock band called, The Police. As the punk rock phenomenon became prominent in the early 1980s, it made them one of the hottest groups in the world during that time. On the whole, the police were more than just a punk rock band as its three members showed a superior technical proficiency in their work than an average punk group.

Stewart Copeland ruled the drums and playing polyrhythms was his forte. Andy Summers’s precise guitar performance created dense, interlocking waves of sounds and effects. Pop songs became catchy and endearing with Sting’s high, keening voice. They effectively demonstrated the future of the punk spirit in pop music by their outstanding work.

Experimentation with jazz and various world musics was there next adventurous step as their career progressed. Their mastery of the pop single increased their fan base by leaps and bounds making them the most popular rock & roll band in the world by 1983. Despite all this, they broke away in 1984 at the peak of fame due to internal tensions. Sting was the one among them who became an international superstar by picking up the majority of the band's audience.

The official announcement of their reunion came after 23 years on February 11, 2007 and the next day after doing the opening act of the 49th Annual Grammy Awards they announced their 2007 tour along with their performance at the Live Earth concert in July.In the early 1977, American-born drummer Stewart Copeland founded the new music group as he was eager to join the rapidly growing London punk scene after the demise of his progressive rock band, Curved Air. Copeland started rehearsing with Singer-bassist Sting and guitarist Henry Padovani in January 1977 and the result was the successful recording of the band’s debut single, "Fall Out"/"Nothing Achieving," in the following month. In March and April their tour was a support act for Cherry Vanilla and Wayne County & the Electric Chairs.

As ska and reggae ( http://www.ticketmayor.com/concert-tickets.php ) was not very popular in the United States as it was in the United Kingdom, the police band successfully scored major reggae-styled international hits and got the honor of being one of the first mainstream white bands to adopt reggae as a predominant musical form, along with The Clash.

Pressed for money, they dyed their hair blonde as it was a requirement for a commercial for Wrigley's Spearmint chewing gum and since then bleached blonde hair became their trademark.

Never officially announcing their break-up, each member started pursing his own solo career at the end of Synchronicity tour in March 1984. Three concerts for the Amnesty International A Conspiracy of Hope Tour in June 1986 and subdued re-recordings of "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" mark their tense short-lived reunion. During this, Sting insisted on a solo career and made his intentions clear.

A jazz-tinged solo project was Sting’s next immediate venture and 1985 saw the release of “The Dream of the Blue Turtles”. Sting catapulted to fame after this and became a superstar but Summers and Copeland had no intentions of following in his footsteps. Copeland continued to work by composing scores for film and television and recorded the worldbeat exploration The Rhythmatist in 1985. He mostly dealt with art rock and jazz fusion experiments and later, formed the prog rock band, Animal Logic.

March 10, 2003 saw their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and their live tours were for "Roxanne", "Message In a Bottle", and "Every Breath You Take".Their claim to international fame was backed by the Rolling Stone Magazine Police as they ranked 70 on the magazine’s list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time in 2004
