BMW - Golf International Open
By Jane Richy
Swedish Niclas Fasth won this year’s BMW International Open at the Munchen Eichenried Golf Club last Sunday June 25th in Munich, Germany.
He reached victory just by two strokes over the Portuguese Jose-Filipe Lima and the German veteran Bernhard Langer, who will turn 50 in August; on the first round he needed a treatment while on the course for a neck muscle injury and even though he shot 76, he proved he can still compete against young players, without question his most remarkable performance.
After the open nine holes of the final round; Fasth was in total control of the tournament. He is indeed passing through the best time of his career playing his best golf, and perhaps Fantasy managers will keep his name in mind when picking the ones for their next British Open roster.
To these results Fasth said "I played some fantastic golf this week - probably the best golf of my life, amazing golf. I decided I wasn't going to look at the leader-boards and didn't know anything about Bernhard Langer's charge until I reached the 15th hole, but then I had a strong finish which really pleased me."
Niclas Fasth received a $445,000 check as the first place winner.
