Lorena Ochoa’s leading golf career

Mexico is well known for its strong passion for football and baseball, but not really quite for Golf, but there is Lorena Ochoa who made a difference. The 25-year-old Mexican emerged as the leading woman in the world ranking becoming the second Mexican woman to join this discipline worldwide.
Lorena Ochoa was born on November 15th, 1981 in Jalisco-Guadalajara. She started playing golf at the age of 5 which quickly became her passion. Her natural talent was noticed as she won several national championships and she started playing as a professional in 2002.
The Mexican became an icon in her country and later on in Latin America. Winning 6 titles in 2006 one of which was the title of Players of the Year Honors of the LPGA.
Lorena has shown the world there is plenty talent in Mexico and that she stands up hight in an area mainly dominated by males. She won her first state competition at 6 and her first national event at 7 and ever since she is being proving herself over and over again demonstrating to the world what a great golfer she is.
She is Mexico’s pride and joy, she has won 9 tournaments since she joined the tour in 2003 and with career earnings of 2.6 millions she also became the leading money winner .
This Jalisco native has proven there are no barriers; one can be what you want to be if you just set yourself to the one goal just as she did. She does for a living what she enjoys most, playing golf bringing Mexico’s name up on the international rankings due her outstanding performance in Golf.
