Nascar Nextel Cup
By Jill Woods
How can we forget Jimmie Johnson, the Nextel Cup defending champion who won the UAW-DAIMLERCHRYSLER 400 which was developed last Sunday in Las Vegas Motor Spedway, getting back to the winners board.
After crashing with a wall the driver took back the control over the speedway, but there was a moment when Gordon seemed to be the next winner but technical problems left him out of the competition.
Denny Hamlin ended on third place, despite of the fact that he spent most of the day in the middle of the pack and Mark Martin finished in fifth place.
The unpredictable race which made the audience’s adrenaline run from the get-go, had in the top 10, drivers like Carl Edwards, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Kyle Bush and Jimie McMurray and Dale Earnhardt who was in 10th place.
In the way to the finish line
Robby Gordon hitted Ward Burton, and on lap 17, three cars were involved in a crash, where Dave Blaney was returned to the garage and Joe Nemecheck as well. Clint Bowyer took part of the accident but he could continue with the race.
In the middle of the way, Gordon was leading the race followed by Carl Edwards, Mark Martin, Elliot Sadler, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Kasey Kahne, JJ Yeley, Jeff Burton, Sterling Marlin Jimie Johnson and Tony Stewart.
