The Fantastic Final Four
By Audrey Nolan
Now that the NCAA tournament is coming to an end for its last dance in Atlanta, the predictions for the final four were very accurate, leaving the final seeds to Ohio State, Georgetown, Florida and UCLA all of them ranked in the top eight at the beginning of the season.
They are all representatives of big leagues: the Big Ten, SEC, Pac-10 and Big East. Each team on the four owns at least one NCAA Championship banner. It is a very interested situation as this hasn’t happened since 1995. Besides, they all won their conference championship for the regular season, with the only exception of UCLA.
The first game will be UCLA against Florida, who is trying to repeat their challenge of getting the title as they lost the final. UCLA is going to be a difficult rival. They had been through a lot of things this season; they are a much more improved team than what they were last season. "I think this year's UCLA team is probably tougher mentally because they've been through the grind a second time now," Oregon Coach Ernie Kent said. "They've been through a much more grueling Pac-10 conference that has gotten them tougher mentally as well…”.
Ohio State against Georgetown will be rookie vs rookie. For both of the coaches is the first time that they go this far. They both beat veterans to get where they are right now. Ohio State beat the Memphis squad. Georgetown beat North Carolina in the overtime.
The two semifinals will be very competitive, according to the predictors at the end; the final will be Florida against Georgetown, but who knows at the end anything can happened and they all have what got them here.
