Poker Tournaments

After almost a year, the Poker Player of the Year (POY) has been reduced to three tournaments that should take place during the month of December: the Bellagio's Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas, the Trump Classic and the WSOP Circuit Event, both in Atlantic City.
All the odds are pointing Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi to be the winner. He has dominated the field all along.
In January 2005, “The Grinder” finished 5th in the World Poker Tour (WPT) World Poker Open at a table also featuring Daniel "Kid Poker" Negreanu and Scotty Nguyen. The next month he won a first prize of $1,859,909 on the WPT, defeating a final table including Ted Forrest and Erick Lindgren. He finished the year's WPT with an 11th place finish (out of 452 entrants) in the $25,000 WPT Championship.
Shannon Shorr is one of the poker players that will try to make Mizrachi sweat on December. He earned a money prize in the $1,500 No Limit event, but he didn’t win any points with it. Shorr is the champion of the Bellagio Cup II and he wants to include another prestigious Bellagio championship to his record for 2006. This gives people a reason to think Shorr might pass "The Grinder" Mizrachi and capture the POY championship as well.
