The 35 year old British midfielder -- David Beckham -- made his debut in the US MLS with the Galaxy from Los Angeles, he played as a replacement for just the last twelve minutes of the game last Saturday June 21st at the Home Depot Center in front of a 27,000 crowd that welcomed him with an explosion of flashbulbs to which he admitted to feel delighted about.
For the last few days the football player has been nursed due to an injury he suffered on his left ankle, reason why his debut had been postponed. During his performance Steve Sidwell brought Beckham down in a awkward move, who showed some pain when he was raising to his feet making his fans a little worried.
Alexi Lalas, LA Galaxy’s manager defended the decision of limiting Beckham’s debut to less than 15 minutes saying that it is a long process which he has to go through, many changes and he also said the spectators shouldn’t be so anxious, because there will be a lot of games on the next five years that he will play for the team. He could earn up to $250 million over the course with this contract.
This was the first time he played after helping the Real Madrid club reach the Spanish title 35 days ago.
