Indian Wells, Roddick and Nadal go to the third round

By Stephen Lars

The most recent news from the Indian Wells, Nadal reached third round as he served 10 aces and saved five of six break points faced in a 6-3, 7-6(3) win over Frenchman Arnaud. It has been some time since we do not see this restless tennis player win a title as he is trying to put an end to an eight-month title lack dating back to his successful title defense at Roland Garros in 2006.

On the other hand, we have Roddick, whose losing semi-finalist at Indian Wells in 2005, powered down 15 aces against Lopez before wrapping up a well-deserved victory in one hour and 20 minutes.

Roddick improved to 15-3 over the year but he is still chasing his first title of the season and his first crown since winning the ATP Masters Series title in Cincinnati last summer.

Roddick has reached the fourth round or better in Indian Wells for the past four years. His best showing was a semifinal (l. Hewitt) in 2005.

As these two favorites move forward in the competition, we will be able to soon discover if they really have what it takes to be crowned as the next Pacific Open -Indian Wells winner.
