It doesn’t matter who wins, Nadal is still the best player of the season

By Jill Woods

The Spaniard tennis player Rafael Nadal lost the final in the Master Series at Hamburgo against his eternal opponent Roger Federer, but he is still the best player of the season, no matter the outcome.

Nadal’s winning streak record of 81 victories was broken by the Swiss; Nadal stayed second at the end of the tournament.

Rafael has confessed that the only player he is glad to lose to would be Federer; who besides being his opponent is also his friend. Nadal let Federer know that he really supports him for the next Grand Slam at the Roland Garros.

Federer admires the fact that the Spaniard has had 81 victories, and has expressed that his is a big achievement and he certainly respects it. This is the first time in six games he wins against Nadal.

Last time that Rafael lost a game was in Valencia when the Russian Igor Andreev defeated him in a final game with a score of 7-5 and 6-2.

Federer has won the Hamburgo title 4 of the 5 occasions he has had the opportunity to participate in.

At the beginning of the game, Nadal seemed to be the one who had the control, he started strong and solid, but it wasn’t enough. Federer awaken and went to get the victory, who despite his errors during the match defended his position as the number one of the world for 160 weeks in a row breaking Jimmy Connors’ world record.
