• The International Circuit of Sepang was officially opened on March 9th, 1999.

• The Malaysian Grand Prix 2008 will be the tenth edition of the championship.

• Until now only Petronas had ever sponsored for the Malaysian F! Grand Prix.

• Malaysia offers a mix of fascinating urban sophistication and rural charm; the increasing development can be especially seing on the capital, Kuala Lumpur. At 452 meters, Petronas Towers in the centre of Kuala Lumpur, remains the world’s tallest twin-towered public building.

• The Sepang Circuit is part of the city’s fast growing development. It was built in 1998 and its construction was so outstanding, it became the inspiration for all of Formula One’s subsequent new tracks.

• The local-weather its changing all the time and it has surprised a couple of times the Grand Prix , going from dry heat, to humid heat or even tropical storm.

• Since 2001 season the Malaysian GP has been the second race of the seasons.
