Singapore, located in South Eastern Asia between the islands of Indonesia and Malaysia will be the capturing and prosperous scenario of the next 2008 Formula 1 SingTel Grand Prix, event that will take place on September 28 on the public streets around the Marina Bay area.
The race has received a pre- approval from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile or FIA, but it is still subject to additional safety clearances. Two very important aspects to mention are that the race will take place during the night time and it is an anti-clockwise direction circuit.
Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) will sponsor the event which could reach a cost up to $35 million. It has been stated that there is a 5-year agreement signed by Singapore GP Pte Ltd to run the Grand Prix.
The Asian race circuit will have a grandstand seating capacity of more than 80,000 spectators who will be delighted by a top-quality show where the vehicles can reach maximum speeds of 300km per hour.
