The Columbus Blue Jackets were recently founded in 2000 as part of the NHL expansion strategy. Their first official game was played on October 7th, of the same years against the Chicago BlackHawks. The team has gone through many ups and downs during the last eight years; and have not yet achieved any title.
During the previous three seasons after the NHL Lockout the Blue Jackets have not make it to the regular season playoffs but have managed to obtained relatively good positions in the overall finishing of the Central Division.
Some of the current Blue Jackets players who are listed in the roster are: forwards Jiri Novotny, Gilbert Brule, Alexandre Picard, Fredrik Modin, and defensemen Ron Hainsey, Dick Tarnstrom, and Rostislav Klesla. |
