Since 1901 a national senior men's lacrosse championship, the Mann Cup, has taken place in Canada being a highly prestigious lacrosse trophy in that country.
The first World Indoor Lacrosse Championships were held in 2003. The competitors were national teams from Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, the Iroquois Nation, Scotland, and the US.
