The East Tennesse State University men’s basketball team is known as the Buccaneers and it is currently coached by Murray Bartow and assistants Scott Wagers, Mike Boyd, and Will Bailey.
The Buccaneers have appeared in the NCAA Tournament 8 times, the most recent one in 2009, but they haven't been very successful. Their last win in the tournament was in 1992. Their best performance is their 1968 season when they made it to the sweet 16.
The Buccaneers have been with the Atlantic Sun Conference since 2005 and already won a regular season title in 2007.
The Buccaneer won 23 games and captured yet another conference championship, winning the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament title and representing the league in March Madness. They then faced No1 Seed Pittsburgh, and hold their ground until the last couple minutes. They were defeated 72-62.
Much of the offensive team that made such a great season is gone for the 2009-2010 season. They are not expected to play as well as they did last year. Regardless of the changes, the team has stayed competitive in their league.
