The Campbell University men’s basketball team is known as the Fighting Camels.
The team won their only conference championship in 1992, when it was part of the Big South Conference.
The team has appeared just once in the NCAA Tournament, in the same year they won the conference championship.
The Fighting Camels are led by Robbie Laing. This will be his sixth year as Head Coach. The University of Campbell plays its home games in the new Gore Arena.
Despite competing with the 10th least-experienced roster among 343 NCAA Division I programs, Campbell University enjoyed its most successful men’s basketball season in 2008-09 in more than a dozen years. This was their first winning record in conference games since 2000. The Camels closed the regular season on a four-game win streak that included victories at regular-season champion Jacksonville
