The school men’s basketball program has been a very important part of the University athletics.
The team is known as the Dolphins and there are many former JU basketball players that are currently playing in the professional field; Artis Gilmore, Otis Smith and Dee Brown just to mention some of them.
During the 1970’s JU became the smallest school to ever make it to the Final Four in the NCAA‘s history and the following season the Dolphins became the first school to average 100 points per game.
The team is currently coached by Cliff Warren and they play their home games at the Swisher Gymnasium. |
