The Kennesaw State University men’s basketball team is named the Owls.
As part of the NCAA Division II, the team won the 2004 National Championship. During the 2008-2009 season the team completed with the 4 year mandatory probation period set by the NCAA.
The Owls basketball team formerly played their home games in the legendary Spec Landrum Center, where they won their National Championship in 2004.
Currently their home arena is the Kennesaw State University Convocation Center.
Last 2008-2009, the Owls faced some hardships. First, J.D. Pollock, one of the team's key players went down with a career-ending knee injury in one of the first games of the season. Then it all went down: the team finished the season with a 7-3 record in conference games and a 7-22 overall mark, to finish last in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Things are looking a bit brighter for the 2009-2010 season. Coach Tony Ingle count with a group of more experienced and better skilled players. As of late January 2010 the Owls are 6th in their Conference.
