The Richmond Spiders have achieved several titles with former CAA conference, but since joining the Atlantic 10 Conference in 2001, the spiders have not had the same performance. But this could easily change this 2010.
The Spiders have appeared in seven NCAA tournaments. The Spiders had their best performance yet in 1988 when they went on to the Sweet 16 round. They had the last NCAA Tournament appearance in 2004.
The team has also played in the NIT. Their most recent post season game was in this tournaments first round against Providence in 2003.
In 2008-2009 the team went on to hold a 20-16 overall record and finished 5th in the A10 conference. As of early February 2010, the spiders have an 8-2 mark in confernce games and 19-6 overall. This might be a good year for them if only they can keep up the good work.
