The school’s men basketball team is known as the Musketeers and they have been a very successful program within the school achieving five regular season conference championships dating from the late 1990’s to the most recent one in 2007.

The team has also obtained four post season conference tournament titles in current years.

Additionally, in 2007 the Musketeers reached the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament becoming one of the top 20 best college basketball programs. 

The team’s current Head Coach is Sean Miller who is in his fourth season with the team. Amongst his achievements we can mention his two consecutive 20-win seasons and second NCAA tournament appearance.  Besides a 25-9 overall record for the Musketeers in the past season.

This season 2007-08, Xavier reached a overall record of 27-6 and won a at-large bid to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament 2008.
