The Boston College men's basketball team is called the Eagles and started playing in 1904.

The team has reached recent success in the hands of head coach Al Skinner, including six consecutive postseason tournament invitations, five to the NCAA tournament.

The team has in recent times accomplished the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament (2006) for the first time in 12 years.

The team successfully made its transfer to the Atlantic Coast Conference from the Big East in the 2005-06 season, with 11 league wins in its first year with the conference.
