The Miami Hurricanes compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) NCAA Division I.

The Miami Men’s Basketball was in silent for 14 years but Hurricane Basketball came back in a strong way.

Ever since 1985 the program have done a dramatic change. With the entry of the team in 2004 to the ACC, the University of Miami became one of the most successful and competitive teams in the conference and nation.

A notable former UM player is Rick Barry, who is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
