The Miami Hurricanes compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) NCAA Division I.
The Hurricanes have 6 NCAA tournament appearances in 1960, 98, 99, 2000, 02 and 08. On their last post season game the they were defeated 75-72 by Texas in the second round.
The Men’s Basketball was in silent for 14 years, but Hurricane Basketball came back in a strong way.
Ever since 1985 the program has done a dramatic change. With the entry of the team in 2004 to the ACC, the University of Miami became one of the most successful and competitive teams in the conference and nation.
The Miami Hurricanes finished the 2008-2009 season with a 7-9 in conference games record and an 18-12 mark overall. The team finished 8th in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
