The University of Northern Colorado along with the men basketball program which is known as the Bears joined the conference in 2006.

The school itself began its transition to Division I sports in 2003 and has not yet achieved any conference titles.

The team finished the 2007-08 regular season with an overall record of 13-16 and a conference record of 6-10.

Coach Boyle, after 3 consecutive seasons with the Bears will provide a different aprroach for the 2008-09 season, basically investing on quality players.
