Wintrop University men's basketball team has been the winningest team in the Big South Conference, beggining its winning streak in the late 1990's.

As of the 2006-07 season, the team has achieved 8 Big South Tournament titles, 6 Big South Conference titles and has appeared 7 times in the NCAA Tournament.

The men’s basketball team is known as the Eagles and they play their home games at the Winthrop Coliseum.

The team’s Head Coach is Randy Peele who has been able to obtain good achievements during his stay with the Eagles.
