The school’s sports teams are called the Wolverines and they participate in Big Ten conference in the NCAA's Division I-A in all sports apart from men's ice hockey.
The Men’s basketball team has been very successful; they have participated in the NACDA Director’s Cup.
The basketball Wolverines have won 12 Big Ten regular season titles and in six different times the team has appeared in the NCAA Final Four as well as the championship in 1989.
Most recently in April 2007, John Beilein was named the new basketball head coach.
In 2007 some of the most notable players were; Martell Webb, Manny Harris and Kelvin Grady. |
