The Men’s basketball team has not achieved a recent championship as their last win was recorded in 1933 and the last time they got to the NIT was in 1999.
The team plays its home games at Welsh-Ryan Arena stadium.
The current Wildcats head coach is Bill Carmody. More less since 1995, the men's basketball team has had some irregular appearances in the post season games.
Last season 2007-08, Northwestern didn’t have a good season by just winning 1 game and loosing 17 games in conference. For 2008-09 season, the Wildcats and its Coach Bill Carmody expected better results this season.
