The team has participated in 22 NCAA basketball tournaments, has reached the Final Four 4 different times; the Elite Eight 11 times; and has been present 16 times at the Sweet Sixteen.
The Wildcats have captured 17 total conference championships, though in more recent years it has been harder for the team and they haven't been able to win a title within the Big 12 Conference.
Head Coach Fran Martin has worked things out in Kansas State. The team went 9-7 in conference games for the 2008-2009 season. In 2009-2010 the Wildcats have had their best season start since the 1961-62 season and as of mid February 2010, they sit second in the big 12 with 7-3 in confernce games record. The team has gone 20-4 overall this season. It is almost certain they are going to make it into the postseason this year.
