The Missouri University men’s basketball team is known as the Tigers and overall this is a very successful athletic program.

The Tigers have appeared in the NCAA Tournament 22 times, reaching the Sweet 16 in 6 occasions and the Elite 8 4 times. They have also played in 6 NIT.

The team has achieved a total of 15 conference championships and 6 conference tournament championships, though with the Big 12 Conference they haven't been able to reach a title yet.

Among some former Tigers basketball players who are currently playing in the NBA are: Linas Kleiza Denver Nuggets, Kareem Rush Indiana Pacers, Thomas Gardner Chicago Bulls and Rickey Paulding who plays in Europe.
