Entering 2009-10, the Huskers are looking for their third straight postseason berth under coach Doc Sadler and the program's fifth March Madness appearance in seven years.
The Cornhuskers are one of the few major conference teams never to win a single game in the tournament. They have had better luck at the NIT. They have been invited to the NIT in 14 occasions, been able to win one championship in 1996.
Under Head Coach Doc Sadler the Cornhuskers finished 2009 with a 8-8 record. Thats their best in 10 years in conference games performance.
Regardless of their somewhat irregular performance, the Huskers were able to attract over 10,000 fans to each of their home games in the 2008-2009 season.
But those numbers probably dropped a bit in 2010. As of mid February, the Cornhuskers are 1-9 in conference games and 13-12 overall. They currently sit last in the Big 12 standings.
