The school men’s basketball team is called the Sooneers, which participate in the NCAA's Division I-A, in the South Division of the Big 12 Conference.
The basketball program began its rise in the early 80’s in the hands of Coach Billy Tubbs.
The Sooneers
have won a combined twenty regular-season and tournament conference championships. With the Big 12 Conference, they have 1 Regular Season title and 3 tournament titles.
The school’s strongest rivalries are with the University of Texas, University of Nebraska and Oklahoma State University.
The Sooneers play their home games at the Lloyd Noble Center. |
