The Huskies men’s basketball team has been a certain powerhouse in the sport achieving 9 regular season championships, 6 tournament championships, and 2 national championships.
Among some of the school’s best basketball players are: Josh Boone (2003-06), Jeff Adrien (2005- ), Rudy Gay (2004-06), Marcus Williams (2003-06), Hasheem Thabeet (2006-).
Additionally, in 1994 the school became the first one to ever have the men’s and women’s basketball team ranked number 1 in the nation at the same time.
In 2006, there were four Huskies players drafted in first round of the NBA Draft, and the first school ever to have 5 players selected in the two-round draft. |
