The Blue Demons have not had a winning season since 2006-2007 season. The 2009-2010 is not going to be the exception.
The team has managed to win one national championship (1945). Yet it has been 6 years since their last NCAA Tournament Appearance and more then 37 years since they last made it into the Final Four.
For the past three years the Blue Demons coach has been Jerry Wainwright. The team has been extremely irregular. They have won games against much better ranked teams, while loosing by 40+ points in regular season games.
In the 2006-2007 season the team gained a spot at the NIT tournament, but lost in the final bracket to Air Force.
2008 was a year to forget for the Blue Devils. They went 0-18 in Big East Conference games and finished last in the conference. As of mid February 2010 the Blue Devils are 1-12 in conference play and 8-17 overall. Not much of an improvement for DePaul. Perhaps next season things will go smoother.
