A couple of the school’s most prominent players are: Dwyane Wade who played for the Miami Heat leading his team to the victory over Dallas Mavericks and Maurice "Bo" Ellis who appeared in two Final Fours.
In 2008 Buzz Williams came to replace Tom Crean as the Head Coach of the Golden Eagles. Williams has had some success. He has guided the team into two consecutive NCAA Tournament's second round. They were 12-6 in conference games last 2008, finishing 5th in the Big East.
The Golden Eagles need to improve their on the road performance, as for most of their losses came in away games. As of mid February 2010 Marquette is 7-6 in conference games and 16-9 overall. They might still get a chance to play in the postseason.
