The school’s men basketball team is known as the Scarlet Knights.
The teams best season was in 1976, after achieving a fourth position within the United States.
Additionally, Rutgers University was amongst the first American institutions to engage in intercollegiate athletics.
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights long time rivals are: Yale University, Columbia University and Princeton University.
Despite the team’s various presentations they have not won a title, but Coach Fred Hill is slowly improving the team and is aiming for experience during the 2008-2009 season.
