The Bengals basketball team is a founding member of the Big Sky Conference and has been a steady team over the years.

In the conference, the team has won two regular division championship titles and two post-season tournament titles.

Idaho State has appeared 11 times in NCAA Tournament, making history in 1977 when the team defeated the UCLA Bruis (which were regarded as "invincible" in that era) and reaching the Final Four.

Coach O'Brien will try to find potential druing the 2008-09 pre season.
