Hofstra Pride has appeared in 8 NCCA Tournaments and four NIT. The team holds an all-time record of 1050-770 in over 69 seasons. Throughout their history the 1959-60 has been one of their best seasons.
In 2006 Hofstra Pride basketball team won 2 post season NIT Games. The first time Hofstra Pride beat a ranked opponent came at home against 25th ranked team George Mason University during the same year 2006.
In the 2006-2007 season Hofstra lost against George Mason in the second round of the CAA Tournament.
The Hofstra Pride biggest rivalries are: George Mason and Drexel University and Stony Brook University but this team is not part of the conference anymore.
During 2007-08 Hofstra had a great season in conference games with a record of 14-4, getting later into a place at the NIT where they played DePaul in the first round but they lost 71-83. This season 2008-09 the Hofstra Pride expected also a great season with their newcomers.
