The Butler Bulldogs men’s basketball team was established in 1897; Coach James Zink was the first team’s coach.
The school has had several outstanding basketball coaches such as: Paul D “Tony” Hinkle and Joe Sexson. During the team’s history the Bulldogs have gathered seven consecutive 20-wins seasons and made seven straight post-season tournament appearances from 1996 to 2003.
Additionally, they won 74% of their games and captured nine league championship trophies. Two of the most successful seasons were the 2001-02 with 26-6 and the season 2002-2003 with a record of 27-6, the best record ever.
Presently during the 2007-2008 season the Bulldogs’ record is 27-2 in the regular season basically another successful campaign for the team. |
