The Loyola Ramblers first men’s basketball team was form in 1913.
Among some of the school’s best coaches we can mention Lenny Sachs, who was for 19 seasons with the Ramblers with an overall record of 223 wins and 129 looses.
Also, coach George Ireland who had a total of 321 wins during 14 seasons.
The men’s basketball program has been very successful as the team has won the regular season conference title in 1980, 1983, 1985, and 1987.
Some of the most accomplished Ramblers basketball players are: Alfredrick Hughes who was the leader scoring for 3 consecutive season 1982-‘83-’84. And Keith Galles leading during the 1989 and 1991 seasons.
The current Loyola Ramblers’ coach is Jim Whitesell and the team is in 8th position in the conference. |
