The IPFW men's basketball team is called the Mastodons and it is in its first year as member of the Summit League.

The Mastodons head coach is Dane Fife, who has been with the team for 3 seasons and it's the youngest current DIvision I men's basketball coach, at the age of 28.

As of March, 9th, IPFW has an overall record in the regular season 07-08 of 13-17.

Among Mastodon's current outstanding players we can mention Jaraun "Kino" Burrows, who has been selected to the 2008 All-Summit League Second Team.
