The Saint Peter's men's basketball team is called the Peacocks and is one of the most important sports programs in the university.

St. Peter's have won the MAAC regular season title three times and the MAAC tournament twice in 1991 and 1995.

The team has appeared in the NCAA Tournament twice, loosing both times in the first round of the competition.

It has also been invited 12 times to the NIT, reachig the semifinals once in 1968 when they lost against Kansas.

At present, Saint Peter's ranks in the 9th place in the MAAC for the 2007-08 regular season, with an overall record of 6-23 until March, 6th.
