The school men's basketball team is known as the Falcons and they have been members of the MAC for more than 55 years.

The Falcons have won the regular season conference title nine times.
Also they have won four bids to the NCAA Basketball tournament and in 1963 the team reached the Sweet 16.

Additionally, the Falcons are currently coached by Louis Orr, who is in his first season with the team, becoming the team’s 15th coach. Orr is a very aggressive, and defensive minded NBA veteran.

During the 2007-08 season, the team struggled with injuries, but still aim a pretty good record of 13-18 on the season.
