The Ball State university athletics program is known as the Cardinals and the men's basketball team has been one of the most successful ones in the MAC.
The Cardinals have been members of the MAC since 1973 and until now they have accomplished 8 regular season conference titles and 7 post-season conference tournament titles.
Their combined record is 3-7 and their most successful year was in 1990, when they made the Sweet Sixteen.
Billy Taylor, the two-time Patriot League Coach of the Year, enters his second
season as head coach of the Ball State men’s basketball team this 2008-09 period.
Taylor wants to improve the 6-24 record from last 2007-08 campaign.
