The men basketball team is known as the Wild Cats and the team joined the MEAC conference as of 1979.
Throughout its history, the Wildcats have not been very successful in the basketball program. Currently, the team is coached by Clifford Reed Junior and assistants Gravelle Craig, Howard White Jr., Michael Willimas II, Ty Watkins, and managers Joel Brown and Larry Robinson.
The team achieved only 5 victories last 2007-08 season, but coach Reed has plenty of newcomers on the roster for this 2008-09 season, unfortunately little is expected from the Bethune-Cookman this period.
