The school men’s basketball team is known as the Hawks and plays Division I basketball as member of the MEAC.

The team has to its history two regular conference championships in the early seventies.

The team had many issues during the 2007-08 season and only achieved 4 victories, two of them included in league play.

New Coach for the 2008-09 period Frankie Allen comes with years of experience transforming low teams into.500 average squads.
