The school men’s basketball team is known as the Hawks and plays Division I basketball as member of the MEAC.

The team has to its history two regular conference championships in the early seventies.

The team currently plays its home games at the Hytche Athletic Center and they are coached by interim Head Coach Meredith Smith who has been the first assistant for the past three seasons.

Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks finished the 2007-08 regular season with records of 4-27 overall, 2-14 in the conference.
