SCSU sport teams are named the Bulldogs and are members of the MEAC in the NCAA Division I.

The team has won six regular season titles and five post season tournament titles with the MEAC.

SCSU have had five appearances in the NCAA Tournament, the last one in 2003 but they haven't been able to win a tournament game.

The Bulldogs coaching staff is headed by Coach Tim Carter and assistant coaches Hank Harris, Kyle Perry, Jermone Riley and Jamar Washington who is the director of Basketball Operations.

The Bulldogs ended in the 8th place of the MEAC conference for the 2007-08 regular season, with an overall record of 12-19 and a conference record of 7-9.
