The school’s athletics program is known as the Falcons and the team won a Mountain West Conference regular season title in 2004.

Some of the team’s most fierce full service academy rivals are Navy, Army and Colorado State University.

More recently the Falcons reached the final four on the 2007 NIT tournament.

During the 2007-08 season, Jeff Reynolds became the first head coach in school history to win his first three games and the fourth to post a winning season.
