Throughout the team’s history of the highlights was the win of the 1944 NIT crown under the Rick Majerus coaching.
The school men basketball team is known as the Runnin’ Utes and they have been a very successful program winning the Mountain West regular season conference championship in 2000, 2003 and 2005.
In his first year with the team, Coach Jim Boylen took the Utes to the postseason CBI, thus gaining good experience.
Boylen is recruiting in search of a solid point guard in order to keep consistency and make a run for the conference play this 2008-09 season.
