University of Wyoming’s athletics program is known as the Cowboys and cowgirls. The men basketball team is a real power house as they have won two regular season conference titles in 2001 and 2002.
The school has been part of the conference since 1999 and the Cowboys have participated in the NCAA Tournament a total of 14 times.
The current men's basketball head coach is Heath Schroyer who was a previous assistant coach in 2001.
The team had a 12-18 last 2007-08 season, but coach Schroyer keeps it simple this 2008-09 period, as he has three league championships at three different NCAA Division I programs to back him up.
